Leather:

  • Wickett & Craig - Vachetta: 100% vegetable tanned, however this leather is staked meaning is has a softer feel than the English Bridle. What makes natural vachetta leather so special is the caramel patina it develops with use.

  • Horween - Chromexcel: Chromexcel is hot-stuffed with oils and greases making a comfortable and durable leather. It is known for its natural grain and rich pull-up. This is softer than both Wickett bridle and vachetta.

Great starter pack

I’m fairly new to the leather hobby. I bought both the kit and pattern so I could start out with confidence before cutting and punching my own pieces. The kit worked out great, and I’m looking forward to making one from scratch.

An easy intro to using leather

I like crafting but have never really used leather and this was a great introduction. The steps were really easy to follow and the result looked totally professional! A great “handmade” gift idea.

Great Kit

The Journal Cover kit is a great way to try out different materials. The leather is very nice and this was my first time using Ritza Tiger Thread. I’m gonna try more of that product. Surprisingly it looked great in the larger round holes, and when flattened out looked really sharp.
