Fiebing’s LeatherColors is a non-flammable, water-based, penetrating leather dye made for natural vegetable tanned leather. Formerly known as Fiebing’s Institutional Dye, it offers a water-based option for leathercrafters who want to add color while keeping the look of a true dye rather than a surface coating.
LeatherColors is a solid choice for veg-tan leather projects that call for a water-based penetrating colorant. Because leather type, tannage, and drying conditions can affect the final appearance, colors should always be tested on scrap before full application.
