Hermann Oak
Founded in 1881, Hermann Oak is one of the premier vegetable-tanned leather tanneries in the United States. Producing leather in St. Louis, Missouri for over a century, Hermann Oak is known for traditional pit tanning, premium domestic steer hides, and consistent, high-quality results. Hermann Oak leather is widely used for saddlery, bridle leather, belts, and other structured leather goods that require durability, clean grain, and long-term performance. Many styles are drum dyed and hot-stuffed with blends of tallows, waxes, and oils, creating rich color, firm structure, and a polished patina that develops with use. Our selection includes 8/10 oz Hermann Oak leather straps as well as backs and sides suited for professional leatherwork and production.
