Compression Fit vs Screw Fit

• Compression fit:
  • Recommended choice for long term security. They will never come off! Whereas screws over time can loosen and fall off.
  • The B1414 back post for compression fit also has a smooth back side.
  • Compression fit pieces use a straight back post sold separately, they are not screw on. They are installed with force from a hammer. We sell hand tools if desired (see links below), but these can also be installed by placing a firm material such as wood on top of the foot/stuff and then hit with a hammer from above.
• Screw fit:
  • Only requires a Philips head screw driver for installation
  • You have the ability to remove the piece if needed.
  • If you are installing permanently we recommend applying a small amount of Lock-Tite to the threads to avoid the screw coming loose. We provide Lock-Tite sold separately.
