Loctite 2-Part Epoxy is a high-strength, general-purpose structural adhesive made for bonding rigid materials where a strong, durable bond is needed. This professional-grade epoxy uses a two-part resin and hardener system that cures at room temperature to form a tough bondline with good gap-filling properties and excellent impact resistance. The 50 ml dual cartridge keeps the resin and hardener separate until use and helps dispense the correct 1:1 mix ratio when used with the proper applicator and mixing nozzle.

Unlike instant adhesives, two-part epoxy is better suited for larger bond areas, uneven surfaces, and repairs where a thicker adhesive body is helpful. It works well on many rigid materials, including metal, ceramic, rigid plastics, and wood. For leathercraft and shop use, this epoxy is best used for hardware, rigid inserts, tool repairs, jig making, fixture repair, and other non-flexing assemblies where a strong structural bond is more important than flexibility.

Not recommended for flexible leather seams, flexible rubber parts, polyethylene, polypropylene, PTFE, or other low-surface-energy plastics unless properly tested first.

Application Instructions:

Prepare: Ensure bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, or loose material. Light sanding or abrasion may improve bond strength on smooth surfaces.
Attach Nozzle: Install the proper static mixing nozzle onto the dual cartridge.
Dispense: Dispense a small amount first to confirm both parts are flowing and properly mixed.
Apply: Apply evenly to one or both surfaces within the working time.
Join: Assemble parts and hold firmly in place. Clamp if needed, but avoid squeezing out all the adhesive.
Cure: Keep parts from moving while the epoxy cures. Handling strength is typically reached within minutes, while full cure develops over approximately 24 hours.

Two-Part Epoxy vs. Superglue

Two-part epoxy uses a resin and hardener that must be mixed together before use. It is generally better for gap filling, larger bond areas, rigid repairs, and structural applications.

Superglue bonds very quickly and is better suited for small-area repairs, close-fitting parts, and fast spot bonding.
