Renia Aquilim 315 Chloroprene Rubber Dispersion (Water Based Contact Adhesive)

Renia Aquilim 315 is a professional-grade water-based contact adhesive designed for leathercraft, footwear, and orthotic applications that require strong bonding performance without solvent exposure. This advanced dispersion adhesive delivers reliable initial tack and a flexible, durable bond while supporting more workshop-friendly handling compared to traditional solvent cements.

Engineered for multi-material compatibility, Aquilim 315 performs well on leather, rubber, EVA, and many common footwear substrates when proper surface preparation is followed. The adhesive supports both cold bonding and heat reactivation workflows, giving makers flexibility across repair and production environments. Its low-odor, water-based formulation makes it especially well suited for indoor workshop use where ventilation may be limited.

Aquilim 315 is widely trusted by cobblers and leatherworkers seeking professional bond strength in a modern dispersion system.

Available Sizes:

  • Half Pint (8 fl oz)
  • Pint (16 fl oz)
  • Quart (32 fl oz)

Key Features:

  • Professional-grade water-based contact adhesive
  • CR dispersion technology for flexible, durable bonds
  • Low odor compared to solvent-based cements
  • Strong initial tack with reliable final adhesion
  • Suitable for cold bonding or heat reactivation
  • Workshop-friendly application and cleanup
  • Excellent for leather and footwear materials

Effectively Bonds With:

  • Leather
  • Rubber
  • EVA
  • TR (thermoplastic rubber)
  • Felt
  • Cork
  • Many common footwear and leathercraft materials

Surface preparation and heat activation may be required for certain synthetics.

Application Instructions:

1. Prepare the surfaces
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and properly prepared. Lightly roughen smooth materials such as rubber or EVA for improved adhesion.

2. Apply adhesive
Apply an even coat to both mating surfaces.

3. Allow to dry to tack
Let the adhesive dry to the appropriate tack stage before bonding.

4. Bond surfaces
Join surfaces carefully and apply firm, even pressure.

5. Cure fully
Bond strength continues to develop over time, with best results after approximately 24 hours. Heat activation may improve bond strength on difficult materials.

Common Uses:

  • Footwear construction and repair
  • Bonding leather components
  • Orthotic and prosthetic fabrication
  • Bags, belts, and small leather goods
  • Multi-material leather assemblies
  • Indoor workshop bonding applications
